Quick Trip to Asheville, NC

January 16, 2017

Asheville, NC is just a quick trip from my hometown of Knoxville, TN.  Asheville is known for so many things from Biltmore Estate, the local pubs, the one of kind shops and restaurants, and its even where the first Hunger Games was filmed.  But this town offers so much more than just that.  To me just the location and mountains surrounding the city is enough to just take your breath away.

Mom decided that she wanted to go shoe shopping last minute and the only place they carry her certain kind of shoes is at this discount shoe store in Asheville.  So, we piled in the car and heading that way.  Once we got there and went in and found out that they was either out or stopped carrying that certain brand.  But we did let that stop us from enjoying our trip.  Going to Asheville brings back a lot of memories not only for me, but for my Dad.  He used to work there, so he knows his way around and where the cool places are.  One of his favorite places to eat, which has become mine is this little Greek restaurant called, "Acropolis Pizza."

For the last thirty years this place as been the best tradition Italian, Greek, and Serbia restaurant that I have ever been too.  So far, I have not gotten one thing I did not like.  I can't even begin to describe it.  It is just good and well worth every penny.  Everything there is real authentic, which makes the world of difference. So if you ever go to Asheville, you should stop there.

Anyways, we ate did some shopping and came home it was a very quick trip.  But it really took me back and made me realize look where I live with the mountains and all the beauty that surrounds me.  With the hustle and bustle I never really take the time to enjoy it and enjoy the little things in life.  I realized I just need to take a second each day and just look around me and see how grateful and lucky I am for everything in my life.
