One of the most iconic icons, towers, buildings, or whatever you want to call it of the Knoxville skyline is the Sunsphere. Well, I decided to take a trip there and learn all about it. It was built in 1982 for the World's Fair. It is suppose to symbolically represent the sun and the windows are layered with 24-karat gold. Talk about being worth something. During the fair it would cost two dollars to visit the observation deck. There it served as a restaurant, serving Sunburgers and a rum fruit juice cocktail drink called the Sunburst. Since the fair it has served as offices, home for some restaurants, and many other things. But still remains one of the most iconic symbols of Knoxville. It has been featured as part of a video that aired on MTV and Entrainment Tonight. Also, one of the most oddest places was in "The Simpsons." Here are some of the pics from my trip.
