This past Tuesday was the Manhattanhenge/Manhattan Solstice.  You might be thinking to yourself what is that.  It is an event that happens just twice a year when the setting sun aligns with the east-west streets of the main street grid of Manhattan in New York City.  The dates change every year where it is evenly spaced around the summer solstice.  The next one occurs around July.  Now for the sunrise alignment it also occurs twice a year around December 5th and January 8th.  The sunrise is based around the winter solstice.
